Jay is Senior Product Manager with the University of Michigan's Weil Institute by day and a board game lover by night. He also happens to be the son of our own Paul Semerad who will be speaking later this month.
In 2014 he developed a game called "Foretold" which he turned into a commercial product which he then turned into a commercial product, having sold more than 3,200 copies to date. Hear more about the game and how he turned it into a commercial product.
For the first time since 2020 a District Governor has been able to travel freely around the district and update all the clubs about what's going on in the Rotary World.
Mike, who's home club is Flint, is a familiar face to our club where he has spoken in the past about membership growth. He walked the walk and during his year as Flint club president brought in 19 new members. He's a great asset to both Rotary and our community, don't miss this opportunity to meet him.
Each month during the school year the club honors two students from each of three high schools in the area, Carman-Ainsworth, Swartz Creek and Powers Catholic. To accommodate each school's health policies, we will be honoring students either via Zoom or in person this year.
At the end of the year one student from each school will be selected for Student of the Year and will be awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
As most of our members know, Paul is an avid bike rider who often sometimes gets to combine his love for biking with a chance to help raise money for a worthy cause.
He has just returned from North Carolina where he participated in the annual Tour to Tanglewood 100 mile ride which raises money for treatment of patients with Multiple Sclerosis. Paul will share pictures and stories about the ride and report on how the money he raised will help MS patients.
In his work life he is the founder and CEO of Semtron, Inc. a specialty manufacturing com located in Flint, MI which now produces more than 86,000 different electrical and digital wall plates.
